Revamping the War Room! (a WIP)

Post by Fermis »

Either, I build too much...or...I don"t have enough shelf space.
Quit building or build more?!!!

Nobody likes a quitter....so I did some work, so I can do some more work!!!

First up....the old.

Image

Those shelves were 1x12" - 6', mounted on shelf brackets.

I replaced those with 4, 1x12" - 8', that are all connected as one unit.

Image

Image

I took those three shelves out to the garage and made another shelf unit...connecting the sides with 1x6" and 45ing the corners to match the other.

The old...(1x8")
Image

The new...
Image

I moved one of the old ones over to the main display cabinet (low and center)
Image

Shelf #3 is built and will replace the cheap bookshelf that's in the far right of the first pic. Built and stained it last night...needs a couple days before I bring it in the house.

Image

If I mathed that one right...the shelf height will match with the first shelf unit. If it doesn't, my OCD will kick my arse!

Yes, maximize your use of available room! More shelves will fit in the same areas. :shoutout:

Man, I need a workshop. That is so cool! I needed hours today just to do a bit of work on my paint racks.
I love to build my own things but space is too damn expensive in large cities.
Cheers,

Oh man that is sweet!! Way to go!

I want to put a 12"x8' shelf across the top of thew window in my Hobby Room. That'll give me some space to display a few things.... possibly even my Dora.

If it works, I'll do a similar thing over my closet doors on my Hobby Room.

You've got me fired up to do all that in this coming year Fermis! Way to go!

Nice! When you are done, come on down to Kentucky.....I need your shelves...
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Wow, good work.

Have the same problem here - its the same thing with models like with books:

"You cant have enough models/books. Only too less shelves!"

;)
"Did you really pay a big amount of money for only half a figure?!"

Fermis, I could use a guy as you around here! Deer hunter, carpenter and gifted modeller! This much talent makes me jealous!
Your shelf builds look fantastic!

Much thanks all!
I LOVE building things!!!

#3 shelf is in...and loaded!

Image

I pulled some builds from the other room to fill out the shelves a little. I can handle those other shelves being a little sparse in the other room. This being the main display area...I wanted it a little more full.

As I build more...the older builds will get moved to the other room, to make room for the newer, better stuff!

I'm gonna make another, bigger paint rack in the near future.
