Microset, Microsol and Mark Fit Strong

Post by scorpiomikey »

How long does microset and microsol last before being unusable? I have a bottle of each that are at least 5 years old. Maybe 6 or 7. Im not sure.
Also can i use them on a decal that ive used mark fit on? I tried mark fit and it didnt seem to do anything? Just made the decal really tacky and difficult to move into place. And now the decals dont seem to be sitting down properly
Thanks for the help guys.

I don't use Mark Fit so I don't know about it but I've never seen a change in the other two with age. If everything else fails and the decal is in the right spot I use heat to settle them down, carefully.

Have read that when and if the main ingredient, vinegar evaporates, then those decal settings wont work at all. Have noticed the same as well

I have started using my old microset and microsol.

I have read of people mixing their own home-brewed setting solutions using vinegar as the base. I found out that white vinegar will remove decals without a lot of paint damage. I had to remove both the large underside decals on my Tigercat because they were on the wrong wing...d'oh!
