More Meng F 35A masks

DNModels has just come out with complete masks for the Meng F 35. They are $25 which is about double what the Galaxy masks cost. the url is

I got their masks, made from vinyl, for my Zoukei-mura F-4 kit. The fit is great, and they are re-usable if handled carefully. Couldn´t find it on their website, but I think to remember that postage is included in the price shown. So, they could be a way to go for European modellers, as they ship from Bulgaria.

I have not tried these before, but I ordered a set of their Mig-29SMT masks a week or two ago on E-bay and they had free shipping.

I believe these masks are made from paper like Tamiya masking tape.

I'm about halfway through masking my F 35 using the Galaxy Masks and I find I'm having some bleed under the masks. I think if DNModels masks had been available when I ordered the Galaxy masks I would have gone for the DNModels.. They are about twice the price but they do offer free shipping. I may bite the bullet and order a set of DNModels masks and strip what I've already done.

One way to prevent bleeding is to apply the base colour first, then add the masks. After the masks have applied, add another coat of the base colour. Following colours will no longer bleed.

Thank you for the idea. It hadn't occurred to me but makes perfect sense. Sincere Hobby has the Meng F 35A back in stock for under $35. I ordered another one because I messed up a couple of places on the original and the wings are not going to fit without putty. I have a set of DKModels masks coming and I'll need to get different paint for the RAM areas I used Light Gull Grey FS16440 and I understand it should be Light Ghost Grey FS36375 plus I already have Have Glass FS36170. I'm using Mission Models paint applied by brush and they work beautifully leaving no brush marks. If anybody is interested in the Meng F 35 Sincere Hobby gives a 10% discount for first order and 12% for returning customers. My service with them has been excellent.

Ordered my AMK MiG-31 at Sincere Hobby about 18 months ago and apart from some hassle with the customs (SH forgot to put the papers OUTSIDE of the package) everything went just fine.
