F-15 Eagle Question

Post by Stuart »

Hi all,

I've just been reading up on the changes between the F-15A and F-15C. As far as I can tell it was mainly Radar and Avionics. Does anyone know of any other major changez that would stop me using a F-15A kit as a Desert Storm F-15C? (Thinking of getting the old Airfix A kit)

Cheers

Stuart

The C is supposed to have larger wheels due to heavier aircraft weight. As a result, the main gear doors were supposedly slightly bulged to accommodate the larger wheels. One other thing not particular to either variant, but the "turkey feathers" on the afterburners are almost never seen on C's, while they were commonly seen on A's early in their careers. You have to make sure that those are gone on a C. Other than that, I am not familiar enough with F-15s to say if there are not some other small fairing or antenna differences between the two types.

Thanks Stik - sounds like it might be do-able.
