Looking at what is in my stash, on the way, and the builds I have done that need a justified build to commemorate them. Actually the idea really sparked when I dropped the kids off to visit my mom and a model I built for my dad (there was two but one was not completed in time) was on the shelf.
The next day I looked at the pictures of it and another aircraft that really needed to be done again with the improved skill I gained since those were made. Planning on starting next year with these builds since next year is 2020 and hindsight is also 2020. Knowing what we know now and improved a model or two that could use these upgrades in techniques. I’m sure you guys have something on the shelf you built long ago that could use a revamp that you really like but was built before your prime.
The two that need this from me is the British Pacific Fleet TBF-1C Avenger / Tarpon.
Never got to finish it when I moved, did not survive the move. Really loved the colors of the scheme but this was a Hobby Boss kit and I only have the AM kits now (which I like better anyway).

The other is the Bf 109E-1, there was a lot of learning when I built this... Learned that a single stage airbrush did not work well for exhaust staining, my antenna rigging was poor, yeah this looked awesome back then but I have come a long way since then.

Thought this would be a good way for us to gauge ourselves on out progress and those particular kits we love for whatever reason.
