So here is the thread for the rest of us to post the oldest build remaining in your collection that has not been overhauled, rebuilt, repainted, etc. One that shows your modeling skills as they were, once upon a time, no matter how recent or long ago that may be.
I’ll lead off. I have several older builds in my possession, but all have been at the very least repainted. Those were a great way to improve my airbrushing skills, but I digress.
Anyways, this is the classic Monogram M48A2 Patton tank, I built roughly 40 years ago, based off an article in an IPMS Quarterly Journal. I scratch built (poorly) a search light over the main gun, probably using plastic from those “For Rent” or “For Sale” signs that you could pick up at so many stores. I also added a tissue & glue mantlet dust cover. Stowage is from various sources (most looks to be Monogram or Airfix), and I painted it as a USMC M48 as shown in the IPMS article. This is certainly my oldest serving example, and possibly my earliest attempt at armor weathering. All markings were hand painted by me (obviously and badly)
