I think the dots are texture and light reflection by the glossy surface to the flash....

Italeri 1/32 TF-104G

Post by wjkunert »

I decided to go a different route and cancelled my order for the Kinetic F-104G(delivery date uncertain) at Lucky Model and ordered a1/32 scale Italeri TF-104G from Sealmodel. It cost $70 + $17 airmail. The 104 is a very small aircraft and I think it's a better choice for my 80 year old hands and eyes. This is a pretty good price because the 1/32 Italeri 104's are quite expensive.

That should be a nice one! A 1/32 F-104 is narrow... but pretty long...

Here are a couple of shots of the particular TF-104G I'll be building. The last flight of a Dutch TF-104G(D-5803) was from Air Base Vokel to Air Base Ypenburg on 26 Nov 1984.

I came across a picture of D-5803 painted overall FS26373 Light Grey. This must have been when they first received it. Sure would make a simple paint job. Something else I found our. The dual seat 104 had the nose gear mounted in the front of the wheel well with rearward retraction while the single seater had the gear mounted in the rear of the well with forward retraction. The single seater had to get the gear up much quicker than the dual seater because of fighting the wind.
