RAF Camouflage masks.

Im having a hard time masking my camouflage for a couple of RAF aircraft on the shelf. I know you can buy vinyl reusable masks, but all i want is something i can print off so i know im getting things in the right place. Does such a thing exist in a free form? Or am i going to have to pay for something ill probably use twice and then forget i own.?

cut it out of paper and use sticky tac?

Try this Scorp. I've been using this method for years for I prefer a slight feather edge to my RAF subjects. Its Blue Tac (poster putty) that can be found at any office supply store. I think I got mine at Wal-Mart.

This method is much cheaper than those expensive masks.

You can make papar masks by copying/scanning the instruction and enlarging them. The put on the masks with blue tack or poster buddies.

I use poster-tac (same as blue-tac...just white) as well. Excellent stuff! Totally re-usable.

When the stuff is still new, it does like to leave behind a bit of residue. Dabbing a blob of the tac back over what's left behind will pick the residue up.

Keeping the poster-tac usable.....after use, knead the tac back into a ball. As the tac ages, and gets more paint mixed in with it, it becomes less sticky...all you have to do is knead it, pull it apart/twist it, smash it...the tackiness comes right back. I have a golfball size blob that I've been using now for 15 years or so...100's of models.

The white stuff left some visible 'shadows' on some paint jobs. Also it leaves tacky residue on some paint jobs.

I therefore only use the blue variant for masking. No trouble at all so far.

It seems hard to find the Blue-Tac. All i've found is the white poster tac.
