Error in Hasegawa F 22 kit

Post by wjkunert »

I was checking some F 22 photos to see the color of the Sidewinder rails when I noticed that the Sidewinder bay doors are perfectly rectangular. Hasegawa has modeled the with sawtooth end like the main missile bay doors. The included pictures show the Sidewinder bay doors and the sprue photo shows the four sidewinder bay doors on the lower left part of the sprue. I can't believe Hasegawa made such a noticeable error.

It looks like there is a saw tooth at the rear doors.

I wonder if that is a feature of different production or pre production/developmental blocks? :hmm:

You know it might be. I hadn't thought of that.

You're right. The side missile bay doors on your photo reflect the doors on the kit. I wonder if they decided the sawtooth wasn't requred for stealth.

My mistake. For some reason I deleted the photos from Postimage. Sorry.
