Paint masks for Meng F 35A

Post by wjkunert »

Galaxy Models has come out with a complete paint mask set for the Meng F 35A. I found it on ebay for about $19 shipped from China. If you are interested here is the ebay url. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GALAXY-D48003-1 ... Swcp1Zkh31

Never heard of Galaxy Model, but this set looks like a bargain! And I like to see it´s done from Kabuki tape. Doing a F-35, this surely might be very helpful! Good find!

I had never heard of them either but saw a preview on HyperScale. I did all kinds of searches and could find nothing so as a last resort I tried ebay and found it there. This will be pretty fiddley as there are over 200 individual pieces to exactly position. I thought the price was pretty reasonable considering the prep work to create the patterns.

The masks for my Meng F 35 arrived today. They did a really nice job. Each of the 200+ pieces of masking is numbered. Here's a couple of scans. They are from Galaxy Models and I found them on ebay by searching for Meng F 35

These masks will take some studying. The F 35 masks I've seen for the Kitty Hawk 35s have you paint the RAM areas first and then cover them with the masks. These appear to have you paint the Have Glass first then mask to paint the RAM. It's going to be quite a bit of work and I hope it comes out OK. It would have helped had they included some kind of instruction to see their plan.

Really? No instruction sheet on how to place all those pieces?

I believe they are of Chinese manufacture and that may explain it. I'm hoping somebody will review them.
