For Mirage experts - Dassault Mirage F.1JA

Which kit would be close? I got decal set for Ecuadorian AF Mirage F.1JA. (see Latest Acquisition thread) I can't find any F.1JAs kits. I'm assuming the F.1C would be the correct kit (no refueling probe)? Any help would be appreciated.

you will not find a JA out of box, the structure is not so special, you can build from Esci/Italeri C/CR/CT or Kittyhawk CR/CT

Esci/Italeri is cheap and old, not bad but you should chance the seat or if canopy open the hole canopy. The Intakes can be replaced by Quickboost parts.

what is different, JA can carry israel air to air weapons in a outer wing rail, can be used from F-16 Sufa or Skunk set .

Thanks Cherrylock! I had been figuring whether or not the Kitty Hawk - let alone the Italieri kit would be the right one. I was aware the F1.JA is not possible OOB but I knew it was a variation of the F.1E. Time to go shopping for a Mirage soon!!!

I'm using the Italeri one that Cherrylock mentioned to do an Ecuadorian jet as well. Just look at reference pics because a lot of the antennas are different from the French ones.

Dassault aircraft of the Mirage families are based off of the same basic airframes. Such as the IIIC, IIIE, F1, V, 2000, etc. All of the suffixes that denote sub variants are related to the peculiarities of the customer country order (J for Israel, Z for South Africa, S for Switzerland, Q for Iraq, etc.) and are mostly avionics related. Most visual differences particular to the variant will be things like antennas, presence or lack of a fin base filet, under nose bulges, refueling probes...

I'm sure that with a little work, any of the available kits can be modified to what you want for your collection.

It's not a horrible kit. Kinda typical for Italeri.
