Just when we thought we knew our stuff, lol

In the course of fielding a question posed to Darren after his seminar, I realized that it was not a simple answer.

So, just for your amusement (and possibly useful info) here are two tidbits regarding USN colors.

http://z15.invisionfree.com/Hangar_Deck ... owforum=11 Takes you to the color section of my Hangar Deck website.

Then clicking on "This Is Now The Light Gull Gray Thread" and scrolling down to the last post in that thread, gives the answer that Wayne was seeking.

As an FYI, I also posted this for general info "Just An FYI For 595 Users" and the link to the current standard (FS no longer exists) is here http://standards.sae.org/amsstd595/

Doesn't matter how or if you use the info,,,,,,but, it is here if you do want it.

ps, I will be labeling my models with the correct color numbers for the era from now on, I will never call a post 1972 aircraft "Light Gull Gray" again. (mostly because they weren't, lol) I also won't be calling a 1955 USN jet "36440 over White" again, since the 5-digit numbers didn't exist yet.

Colours! A never ending story...

Had a look at your HDR; I immediately realised how much I miss those AeroMaster colours! Never got it why they went down.
