Cool gift Stuart!

I have also been curious to have a Saturn rocket of 1/144 scale.

If I look at Scalemates.com, I can see this kit originates ftom the 1968 Monogram kit. BUT, this 2014 Revell kit has new decals!

When are you planning to build it, will be interesting to watch!

Good one! I kept on being interested in anything "Apollo" since the guys landed on the moon.

Thanks Gents.

I know what you mean Thomas - The Apollo and Voyager missions have always been my favourite space 'adventures'.

Kari - thanks for the info - I wondered if it was a monogram kit. I'm intending on building it straight away ad that wax the deal I did with my daughter - you choose it, I'll build it. I wanted her to get excited about it - rather than just another box in the stash.

Borg - It's about 77cm tall!

Regards

In our living room we have Dragon´s 1/72 scale Saturn V rocket. About as tall as I am! Really an impressive display!

A 1/72 Saturn V??? That thing must be huge!

Work has started on the First Stage...

I don't know the date of the Monogram kit, but I'm guessing it's old - The detail (what there is of it) is really clunky and there are gaps everywhere - But that gives plenty of chances for some scratch building. I'm going to have to totally re-do the 2nd stage engines as they are completely and utterly wrong.

Anyway - I'm going to start a new thread in the SCI-FI section to carry on with this build so I'll move it to over there.

Cheers

Stuart

You and me both! An amazing tale that has not been surpassed by us since then...

That's pretty huge. I noticed on ebay the other day you can get a Crawler Transporter for that model to sit on.

I now want one of course...
