sheesh, bud

I'll get there, I am only halfway done typing up the version list. I plan to cover all of the lumps and bumps, whether ever molded in plastic or not.

The above post was just to "establish what terms I will use" when doing the version list,,,,,,,,mostly so I don't get questions about "what do you mean by ALQ-51?" (for example) right in the middle of trying to tell people about the ACLS door in the F-4G, J, and N,,,,,,and trying to explain why they weren't on the F-4B. (well, except for a very few Ringer F-4Bs that is)

I plan to give away my entire Phantom manuscript here. (well, all of the text, that is)

The only parts I won't post are the illustrations that kept me from publishing. (couldn't afford the "rights fees")

I will use USN photos, or take photos of model parts, though, and try to use them to make the connection between parts, versions, and names.

"Ringers" have to come after the broad categories, or it will be hard to understand what is so special about them.

Geez, I see that I worded that wrong.

I mean to say, "I plan to post all the Phantom info from the text of my manuscript up here", I'm not going to retype all the Phantom (and the other aircraft) Deployment info on here.

I got a good laugh at myself, implying that I was going to rephrase and retype an entire book into the message board.

Sheesh, old people. Don't you just love 'em?
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

What makes it such a one off, aside from the paint scheme? Rex, hush up now- I know you know this!

153088 is indeed a cool Ringer.

I will wait to see which model it gets described as before I say anything, except to ask if you are aware of her other paint scheme? I say which model because I have seen it described online as 4 different things, and only one of them is correct.

Well I figured that she did not stay in the Bicentennial scheme long past 1976. I figured that she would have gone into a more standard scheme of Gull Gray over white, but VX-4 had lots of one off schemes... :hmm:

But I did find this photo of the airframe later on in life...
