I keep a bend needle as the one shown to apply tiny amounts of masking fluid, to clean recessed panel lines after sanding and other purposes. A modeller never throws anything away!

to get the bend out I usually roll it on a very flat piece of glass but not too aggressively or it will get bent in another way. If you have a spare needle then I would just use that.

I do like Mike's answer regarding stabbing yourself. Probably miss if it were me. I have a Badger 150 that I've never used. For whatever reason, it had a spare needle in the case, so I grabbed that. I also ordered two replacement conversion needles. I've contacted Badger, but haven't heard back from them yet.

I just drop the camera for that. We were on a trip to San Fran, sitting in a restaurant that had a concrete floor. Camera fell out of the bag (no, it wasn't closed) and you hear this noise of pieces/parts skittering across the floor. That was an "Aw Sh**" moment to be sure. But, it broke the lens at the attach collar and did not harm the camera body itself. Luck was with me. Of course, the lens was toast.

Arrrgh - yep I've had that happen to me - SLR fell off my shoulder when I was leaning over my son and landed on the concreate on the corner of the lens... and I'd only had it two weeks.

Mind you, not as funny as a firend of mine who bought a new 'full frame' Nikon DSLR to take with him on his overseas holiday. He went into the garden to play with it the day before he left and ended up dropping it into his pond.... Sufficed to say he didn't take it with him.

I feel for you Lyle. I do that to my Iwata Neo all the time it seems and it always happens when I'm cleaning it.
