Done with worthless Touch-N-Flow glue applicators

I broke two of those pieces of crap tonight trying to fill them.
Think I'll just use an old paintbrush to apply liquid cement.

I can't tell I have never ever heard anyone tell anything of these "devices", how practical they are, etc...

Just curious to know, if they would not have broken (I guess pretty easy also?), would you still use them?
Are they really practical ?

I've never understood why people use these things. I find the small brush in the bottle of tamiya extra thin more than adequate.

My guess they're nothing more than a gimmick to entice the consumer to buy them. I've always been skeptical on such tools.

Although I did like those tube glue micro tip inserts back in the day for gluing small areas. They're still around to this day. In fact I've still got a couple those tips myself.

I do use it but not exclusively. I fill mine by putting the needle in the cement, sucking on the tube and gently drawing about half a tube. I use the Plas-T-Weld just for things like fuse halves where I want a quicker set up times. I don't recommend that way of filling them but it works for me.

I usually use Tamiya extra thin and when I run out I buy the Beauty Secrets nail polish thinner from Sally's beauty supply for under $3.00 for 118ml. It is the same chemical and is twice the amount at half the price. That is where I get my sanding sticks from also.

On larger areas I use tube glue.

Yeah, I use it for cement. It works real well.

I used to fill the Touch-N-Flow like you do as well but was told by several people not be sucking on the end of the tube to fill it with the toxic chemicals we are using.
I bought the Tough-N-Flow kit recently and it comes with a plastic squeeze bottle to fill the tube.
You remove the needle from the plastic bottle and push the end of the Touch-N-Flow into the opening and it fits tight and you can then use the plastic squeeze bottle to draw up liquid cement into the tube. It works pretty good but all it takes is a little too much pressure and these glass tubes snap.
I broke both last night and was trying to be careful so they are fragile for this method of filling.
I wished they were stronger as I really do like the way they work and cement comes out in a real slow drip which is perfect.
They still work as I only broke off a few inches of the end but I still wished they were stronger or made of something that doesn't break.
I am going to look into other means of using liquid glues such as small syringes they sell at the plastic store a few miles away.
An old empty Tamiya liquid cement bottle may be nice as well if I could find one.

I still have one of those. Back when I have used them there was no plastic bottle given to fill them up. I simply gave the open end of the glass part into the glue, waited for the glue to level up and done. Hard thing was to keep the very fine steel needle free of glue and open. When done I put the needle into a piece of tissue. When the remaining glue had pulled out I gave a short blow onto the open glass end and done.

But with good supplies of Tamiya Extra Thin I stopped using this device.
