Hey Guys... Looks like I need your help to help me decide which of the kits should I have. Last month, my F-16I Sufa won a local modeling competition and got the Academy 1/35 K9 SPG as a prize. A good friend who was at the event offered me to barter my K9 with his Italeri AC119K Gunship. FYI, my friend is an armor freak.
Now, I do a bit of armor... a bit of vignette...here and there... very selective, but do A LOT of AIRCRAFT models! LoL. The chances of getting that AC119K build by the end of next year is 85% compared to the K9 which in my calendar would mean....almost never.
But the K9 is a new kit, while the AC119K is been there for ages plus the price difference between the two is $10 (K9 being more expensive) with today's currency. Despite that, I have been eyeing on the AC119K and is on my "wish list" ever since I saw one stashed in my friend's house last year.
So, all that said... should I take the offer? help!

Monty, I just had to google what a K9 is...
Well, you would like to build a AC119 some day and now have a new, great looking K9 at hand. I, if I was you, would keep the better and higher detailed kit, the K9. I guess you could get a 1/72 AC119 for cheap whenever you feel the need to start one. But that´s just me.

that is true, one thing that i was a bit heavy hearted was the level of detail and finesse of the K9 model which also includes two ROK Army soldiers. I mean, this could be a nice vignette to think of it. and it would be a great way to break the "oh no, another cockpit" feeling.Thomas_M wrote:Monty, I just had to google what a K9 is...![]()

As nice as the AC119K is, I'd say stick with the K9.

Many thanks all. I decided to keep the K9! (now, finding the time to build it...)

I'm glad I was late to the Party here. I was going to suggest making the trade so you can show us what a great job you'd so on the AC-119K. I built mine some years ago, so I want to see one built up right.
But you kept the K-9. So, lets see you do some armor now!
