Summer doldrums

Post by lawman56 »

Yep. It's finally hit me, the summer doldrums. Between the final touches on the house remodel, work, yardwork, 3 highly energetic grandsons, and a garage in total disarray, I've found myself staring at my work bench more than actually sitting at it. Just can't seem to get my mind into it.

I'll get back at it eventually, but for right now, it's kinda nice to just sit back, look at it all, and just imagine what it will be like when everything calms back down.

All true, besides regular work, outside chores and activities,it's hard to get bench time. When it's nice outside,it's tough to stay in the basement.

I find it VERY easy to stay in the basement!!!
But...work and all the other crap that needs to get done thwart most efforts to get to my basement.

Is it Winter yet???

People need a hobby!

Seems like the vast majority of my weekends get planned for me..."Let get some tubes and float down the river...ALL DAY!" (that kills Sundays)...Saturdays are mostly spent on yardwork...just when I think I have a free evening, people show up...with rum...I don't remember the rest!

Problem is....everybody loves me!

I have to keep reminding myself...."There's more to life than just building models in my basement".
I have a hard time believing it sometimes though!

I just promised to go out three times a week for the next several months and sing to my other half.
(Karaoke, with a good voice)

That adds up to 5 days of the 7 that I won't be able to even plan to do modeling, let alone actually do it. But, I don't have doldrums over it, because I like the hobbies I have, with modeling being just one of them, even though it is the one I have done the longest.

Exactly the same over here. I have not been at the bench for months.
