Monogram '69 Camaro Z/28

Post by BlackSheep214 »

Picked up this beauty at Ollie's a few years ago for $12.99. This kit is Monogram mold and has been re-released a couple times since its first boxing. Zero flash and still typical Monogram fit as Ive grown to love since I was a huge Monogram fan. I've built so many Monogram kits as a kid and I'm still looking for more no longer in production.

Anyhow... this one is pretty straightforward and fast to build due to its simplicity.

The kit

The body is already painted gloss white and letting it dry for a couple days.

Progress pics from the last48 hours...

Cool engine set up

Top are rear tires, bottom are for the front

I have stripped some of the parts of chrome because some are an overkill to keep them chrome.

Parts stripped of chrome:

Engine Manifold
Carburetor
Exhaust manifold
Brake fluid reservoir
Washer fluid reservoir
Roll cage (currently in Purple Power bath)

I like '69s! Not as much as the '67s and '68s though. I don't know if I ever saw a white Z-28 back then so that will be different! 👍 Hey, why is that fan belt so shiny? :hmm:

I remember building this kit back when it first came out. Such a cool car.
Thanks,

This one is just about finished. All is left is paint the door handles and hood clips before the final reveal.

Yeah, Monogram kits are fast builds and simple. Great for modelers starting out in this hobby with car and truck model kits.
