AFV Club 1/350 scale Gato Class Submarine, 1942

Post by BlackSheep214 »

The first build of 2026. A fun kit and the first submarine kit since the mid 70s when I built the USS Nautilus.

The plus side of this kit is it comes with indivdual numbers you can choose from and flags, of course.

This one is built up as SS-257, USS Harder. Her motto is "Hit'em Harder".

The finished kit. The base was painted Tamiya Gold Leaf; the lettering I used a simple permanent marker.

Bravo, Tom! That project came together really well, including the final touches on the base itself!

Great job Tom. I like a nice sub build now and then.
Thanks,

Thank you for the kind words. The PE railing were a biatch to do. Thankfully other parts gave me the option to use either. The railings along the hull, and the mast portion were the only PE I had to use.
