oooooh nice - I do like the Nieuport 11, one of my favourites in Microprose's 'Knights of the Sky' on my old Commadore Amiga.

I saw that game when it was ported over to the Atari platform and henceforth picked up by Steam! That’s one of the great unsung or under appreciated development aspects of video games—their evolution from arcade to simulator or was it vice versa? I’ve found another Nie. 11 scheme I’ll try one day and probably using the CSM 1:32 kit. Also; hey, was there a 1:72 version of this besides the one made by Merlin Models of Great Britain? Oh, wait, didn’t Aurora make the Nie. 11 in quarter scale?

You know, that sounds familiar to me too. They probably did; I know that Hawk did the Nie-17 in 1/48, one of those later Testors kits:

bravo, Gary—that looks a wonderful model!! I also appreciate the black and white treatment, too. Did you use straightened wire to make cross braces? As far as I know, this is the kit. I think Blue Max also made a Nie. 11 in quarter scale with white metal parts. Do you know anything about the Blue Max model kits? Also also: does anyone know of a free server for photo uploads that isn’t buggy on the iPhone? I’m only able to use post image on my computer using a very highly modified spam filter! On the phone it’s absolutely a terrible usage problem as a single click spawns three or four replicating fake ads or takes me directly to my apps for worthless installs.

In reply to your earlier comment Bruce - As amazing as todays simulators are, personally I think they were better when the point of them was fun, rather than the ultra realism we have today - people actually pay for virtual flying lessons to fly modern sims like DCS, which to my mind is utterly ridiculous, and no fun at all.

I'm afraid I agree with you completely, Stuart. Sacrificing imagination as well as experiential learning is a destructive path for humanity itself and that is what's been combined with the "Get Rich Quick/Superstardom" of social media to complete a deadly, distressing trifecta.

The color of the polysterene is excellent. It will be a great linen base. I really think that Eduard perfected quarter scale WWI aircraft models due to the inflence of its design team. The level of detail is quite good! I suppose this would be called the "Weekend (WE)" version of the kit as it is lacking the PE sheet to build the seat and IP. The kit wasn't cheap at $30 plus shipping, but it's readily available on eBay for about the same price as I paid for it. It is officially out of production or perhaps it lives on in some fashion as a limited edition.
