Made a bi-annual trip to....

Post by BlackSheep214 »

Electic Chic Antique store in Oneida this afternoon. Same place where I found the Lost in Space robot kit. Went there to see what model kits they have. Found 3... Sherman tank, Titanic ship model and the Bismarck battleship model. Didn't buy any of them.

The Italeri Sherman tank kit. Box is beat up, didn't bother to look at the contents. Interesting decals too. Selling for $39.99

Titanic ship model. Box is about a meter long. Could tell what scale. Selling for $85

Saved the best for last and it's a big battleship kit. I really mean B I G big... and out of my budget range. 1/200 scale Trumpeter German Bismarck battleship kit. The box is about 4 feet long, maybe a little longer. $300 for the kit. :wow:

If I had the funds to buy it, it would be bought today.

I did come very, very close to buying this for $40 - McFarlane large figure collectible of Cal Ripken, Jr. I am a huge Cal Ripken fan and Baltimore Orioles fan.

The missus maybe we can get it for Christmas for you on next Monday after the wedding in Rochester next weekend. Told her IF it's still there. :bored:

Did come across this framed picture too. Pretty cool but not for $250. :bored:

These guys must keep their eye on eBay prices. The Sherman costs more than when it was issued in that boxing, but is a slightly better deal than the latest boxing. Now a 1/200 Bismark... :hmm: if only I had the room for such a beast.

That’s what the missus said…. Where in God’s name will you display it?! :giggles:
No doubt it would be a beast once assembled.

Pretty interesting stuff. I'd say the Titanic is 1/350 - I have one (deluxe edition) started ages ago :bag:
Thanks,

Nope.... don't have the funds to spend on the Bismarck nor the display space for a 4 foot long battleship. :giggles:

If had $300 to spend, I'd buy it outright. Unless I mention it to my son to get it for Christmas  :giggles: Nah... he's a cheap b@$tard. :giggles: :giggles: :giggles:

Man that art work is awesome! Too bad it's so expensive.

Yeah, I know. If it was $50 I'd grab it.

interesting trio though - I get the link between the F-4 and F/A-18 but where does the Corsair link into it? Same Squadron or did McDonald buy out Vought?

I think it's a group of Pax River test jets.
