Is the first model kit out yet? I just became aware of this new development; or maybe it's not so new, but I hadn't heard of it before now.
Looks interesting.
Damn, that Abrams X looks like something from a sci fi movie!
The Booker sounds and looks interesting. Funny how the Army won’t call it a tank, although like the M551 Sheridan, it is very much a tank in everything but name.

That's exactly what I thought it was too. It reminded me of the Sheridan. It's hard to figure out where this fits in the Army's armor. They have the M1, M2/3, and the Stryker. And it looks like they're replacing the HUMMER with several vehicles.

Supposedly it's slated to go with light units, one company of these per brigade. To me, that sounds like the Korean War era tank companies within an infantry regiment as far as role goes. But this thing weighs in at 38 tons, so it can only be air landed via C-17 or C-5, not airdropped or LAPESed by C-130... a new weapon system for a new old niche.
