Thanks! It’s good to be working on stuff again. The mojo kinda left for a bit.

Now I remember that seam behind the cockpit. No life raft to cover it in the British scheme I did.

That’s an easy fix to deal with at least.

Looking forward to seeing a brightly colored Buffalo.

Due to a steady stream of houseguests here since the Labor Day weekend, I haven’t had much bench time. Until this weekend. I resumed work on my F2A.
First up I installed and drilled out the exhaust stubs, and then glued the landing gear struts in place. Since all of this will be aluminum lacquer, there is no worries about adding those parts at this point



next I detail painted, added a wash, then installed the engine



lastly I have added the horizontal stabilizers and the engine cowling front.



I’m just about ready to start some paint soon!

Looks really sharp! Engine look great, as well.

To me, That landing gear setup look way more maintenance friendly than the later Wildcats.

Lyle, the gear does look quite robust and maintainer friendly. But in reality it was a weak point of the type. But the Wildcat sure does have a funky set up by comparison.

I'm sure the gear design for both the Buffalo and the Wildcat were due to the mid-wing design
