During his time in the USAF, my son has gotten into Warhammer for his off duty entertainment. Recently he sent some photos of his work and I was quite astounded by his painting skills, and I thought that I would share the photos of his work that he sent

Don't ask what they are or how he did this as he did not explain any of this aside from mentioning trying out lacquers and using some paint pens...

It's called either a 'Armiger Warglaive' or a 'Wardog Huntsmen' (I think the latter) from the Imperial Knights/Knights faction of 40K... So there you go, you know now LOL!

Super bit of painting though - his metallic work is superb. But tell him he needs to paint the base! :lashed:

Does he play, or does he just like painting the miniatures?

I do believe that he plays. I know that he was playing when he was assigned to Moody AFB several years back. I’m not sure if there is a group of players at Eilson where he is currently stationed. But he will be out at the end of the year and moving in with us here in AZ, where there a couple of game stores and groups nearby.

I’d be curious to know his exact materials and techniques. I do know that he watches YouTube videos for tutorials.

Cool - that'll be fun for you. What's he going to be up to once he gets out - he's an engineer or similar isn't he?

No, he has no such training of that sort. He is trained as a vehicle operator, and can drive anything from a forklift, to a bus, to 18 wheeler tractor trailer, and most anything else on wheels in between. So if he stays within that lane he has multiple options for once he is in the civilian world.

No, he has not entered any shows to my knowledge. I can’t imagine that there are any up where he is in central Alaska.

Right? I am quite blown away by his work here.
