Side Opening Boxes - or the hatred there of...

I have a few subjects that I really sought after that are side-openers. Nice kits of really great subjects... but they are side-opening boxes. I absolutely hate side opening boxes and wonder why the manufacturers do this. I assume it is a cost saving exercise but really don't know. Some have excellent box art to boot. Any how, a solid box top opener where I can partition my parts and put some parts/decals back in the box and see them while I build the kit... that's what I want.
Kinda sounds like a Seinfeld episode but curious about your thoughts (pretty sure I know the answer) :giggles:

I’m with ya there. The old Testors kits came in those boxes and I’ve had my fair share of those for bee the years. Quite a few ICM 1/48 fighters come in those boxes as well. I am no fan either.

Hate 'em. The boxes themselves seem to be weaker then top openers too. They squish easier. Italeri is known for side openers on some subjects.

Oh, what a terrible thing to have to deal with! It just so happens that I'm now offering video-therapy sessions that help one overcome this type of struggle. They are quite reasonably priced and might even be covered by your health insurance. Please, feel free to inquire about getting help today!

As an aside, I also now offer pet pyschology services. Yes, if you feel that your furry loved ones just aren't their usual, happy selves, it may be that they could really beneft from a few sessons with me. Again, my rates are very reasonable and don't forget to ask about bundling your needed servces for an even better price!

Yup... Testors had side opening kit boxes back in the 80s. So does Roden and Zvezda kits. Both had great artwork. Testors... not so much. So yeah.... I hate them too.
