Looks awesome. I have a friend who used to hop these up - the stinger etc. Then he got older and had a factory fresh restoration of a bug of this era. It was beautiful!
Who doesn't love a beetle!

Very nice little Bug! I've never done a Beetle kit but my sister did a Tom Daniel's Design VW van kit when we were kids.

Thanks. I've got 4 in the collection. This one, the Tamiya 66, Tamiya 66 karmann ghia and a AMT Meyer's manx.

That bug looks great! What an iconic design! I had a ball driving a red VW that belonged to a classmate's older brother while in high school. Man, it was fun blasting around town, practically "flat-out" with nobody noticing. I remember thinking it drove like a go-kart. Later, during my time as a sheetmetal mechanic/tinsmith, I replaced the rotted-out floor panels on several beetles. They were ingeniously designed to catch and collect water beneath the floor covering.
