Airfix Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

Brand new box. This kit is already fast becoming a freakin' nightmare

before a single drop of paint or glue touched it. This morning, I was doing some dry test fits to fuselage, wings and even the wheel well assembly piece.

Too much flash, ill fitting pieces with gaps.

To be honest at this point, I'm ready to toss it out in the trash.... unless someone wants it.
Looks like I'll be looking for another Hurricane Mk.I in another kit brand.

That is pretty contrary all reports about the new Airfix 1/72 Mk I. I wonder if this is a isolated incedent or not.

Believe it or it's 1/48 scale.

Aha , 1/48, that changes the whole thing. The Airfix 1/48 hurricane is ancient,

I did some research, the 1/48 kit is from 1979! So I would not expect so much from such an old kit.

When I first saw the kit, I was a bit hesitant in buying it at first considering it was an older Airfix brand. Eh... I bought it anyways even I didn't know about the flash and ill fitting parts with gaps of the brand. Oh well. Still looking to toss it or give it away.

Yeah, that kit is of the same vintage as myself....
If you do not want to build it. Just give it away, there are loads of modellers who like old kits.

Or give it to a schoolboy / -girl visiting a model show for free. You will not get your money back, but the smile of a happy kid!

That did come to mind. Sadly model shows are a rarity these days in my area.
