I came across this article this morning and immediately thought it could inspire some creative modelers out there (you know who you are!). Pretty interesting stuff...

Purely hypothetical here- VX-9 is a testing & evaluation squadron, so basically their job is try out new stuff. Over the past six months in Ukraine, especially in the springtime, many of the latest Russian systems including air defense radars have been captured, and most likely bartered in trade to the West for weapons. The Russians have been saying that their S-400 SAM system was designed with the F-35 in mind. Now, a short time later, VX-9’s F-35s are spotted trying out a new “coating” (it’s not really paint, nor any visual camouflage scheme).

Just some added context to ponder… :hmm:

Oh great! If this keeps up and spreads to other planes, I'll have to quit building modern aircraft! I have no clue how to replicate anything like that! :headbang:

That chrome might persuade those car modelers that are militantly resistant to ever building another genre to try a jet....

Personally, I want to see an F-35 in 80's RAF wrap-a-round camo. :lashed:

Yeah, I agree Stuart. I think he's on the right track there too.
