I started listening to a couple model related podcasts last Fall. Anybody else out there doing that? I've found listening to these while I build helps to keep my mojo going. Some of the ones I listen to the most are the Plastic Posse Podcast, Sprue Cutters Union, and Model Geeks. I had the opportunity to meet a few of the guys from PPP while at Nat's last year, great bunch of guys.

Nope. I prefer to work in silence on the bench.

No. After 30+ years of having a radio next to my ear and listening to people talk, I really don’t care to listen to people talking. Music on the other hand… now I can listen to music all day and all night.

I have listened to modelling podcasts such as the Scale Model podcast. But I don’t really like them. To much banter to my taste, to little information. I do like history podcasts, science and geo political podcasts and listen to them regularly.

I guess everyone has different things that get them in the groove or allows them to relax a bit. I used to put on YouTube stuff in the background, but my problem was that I always wanted to see what they were talking about, because I knew it was visual and then I'd get distracted. Sometimes, I will put on Mike Rinaldi's YouTube channel and listen to what he's talking about in relation to weathering because some of the information, just spoken makes sense.

What I've found with the podcasts is that I know its only audio. Yes, there are some that aren't as useful as others, but most of them I find interesting.

I've been listening to JMC (Just Making Conversation) a lot whilst decorating - I like it, it makes me laugh. I have listened to a few of the US based ones, like Sprue Cutters Union but, and no offence to you guys, they take it far too bloody seriously.

Whilst working I actually listen a few miniature wargaming channels, and a bit of ASMR - Modelling is chill out time after all. The only place a listen to music these days is the car.
