Ok, a few threads have gotten me thinking. We all have different tastes and interests for aircraft models. But we all have a LOT of overlap as well. Now, there are always types of aircraft models that we have not built because they are unavailable in our preferred scale. But then there are the common kits in most every scale as long as plastic modeling has been around, and the model companies keep coming out with the updated version with the latest and greatest tooling/detail.
What is it that you have never built? And I’m not talking obscure stuff, but a mainstream subject, in any version, and it is or has been readily available? Aircraft of course, because that is the subject area that has got me thinking.

Silly boy… what airplane model types have you never ever never built?

For me I’d say it’s some 50’s types… The F-89 Scorpion, the Saber Dog (which technically is not part of the F-86 family, it was redesignated for political funding reasons), the Thunderstreak (again renumbered into the F-84 family to sneak it by Congress), a B-47 or B-36, Avro Vulcan, Sepecat Jaguar,

I haven't built any Bf190, P-51 (I have one in the stash), or any Russian aircraft.

No Vulcans, no Valiants, but they are in the stash and a Vulcan is teed up for late this year. No F-16's. No F-22, no P-35, there's really a very long list and no matter how many kits I build I suspect there always will be.

I would say any modern jet fighter but since building the Phantom that had changed. But never built a mustang a helo ( got some in the stash) or any other modern jet fighter besides the Phantom

Okay... (Ignoring the trash unpainted builds I did as a kid, and just looking over the last 11 years).

So, asides from an SE5a I've never built a WWI Aircraft.

Asides from a Me410 I've never built a twin engine aircraft.

I've never built a WWII Medium or Heavy Bomber - So no B-17, Lancaster or Heinkel.

I've never built a Seaplane or Floatplane.

I've never built a cargo aircraft.

The only Helo's I've built are a Cobra and Loach

Italy:

I've never built an Italian aircraft.

But then I suppose it shouldn't really be too much of a surprise that I haven't build a lot of stuff - as up until the end of 2019, my main focus/interest in modelling has always been the RAF, especially WWII.

I've built all of the main single engine aircraft used by the RAF asides from the P-47, including all the main Marks - at the last count I've built 13 Spitfires

Early mk.I, Late mk.I, PR.mk.I, mk.II, mk.Va, mk.Vb, mk.IX, PR mk.X, mk.XII, mk.XVIe, PR mk.19, mk.21, mk 22, oh and a Seafire mk.II
