Fresh Plum Metallic is a nice shade. For white, I'd go with India Ivory. Really nice color of white.

Testors Red Burgundy Metallic is a good one for a Dark Cherry look.

Thanks, Tom. I found the first site. Not very easy to get around. That is the application programmer coming out.

I’ll check the white as well. Any experience with Tamiya Pearl White spray ()?

I used Testors Pearl White once and wasn’t happy with it considering it’s kinda transparent.

The MCW site isn’t really all that hard to get around. Once you enter SHOP, do a search say... white. You will get various color shades of white. For Fresh Plum, type that and you will see the color swatch.
Also, down the list if you don’t do the search, you will see various auto makes. Click on one for example Chevy. You will see a range of years of Chevy. Same thing with other makes. There’s so many colors, it’s enough to make your head spin. I’ve found a few colors I plan on purchasing. Yeah they’re a bit pricey but I think they’re worth it. No thinning involved from what I’m understanding.

Another paint source is Zero Paints. Trouble with them, most are out of stock due to the pandemic. :bored:

Mcw is awesome for color matched race cars. And the site is 100 times better than the old site where you had to down load a form and send it in. I have ordered auto touch up paint online as well.

Lyle... Links to paint colors you're looking for and actual color on classic cars of what they actually look like. You gotta admit, India Ivory is a nice white. :lashed:

I heard through the grapevine Revell is releasing the '56 Chevy Del Ray kit sometimes early next year. If that's true, I'm definitely picking one up and doing the same colors as above.

The cherry is what I had seen somewhere and liked...but that plum color is nice...maybe for the Nova?

That’ll look nice on a Nova. If Revell ever comes out with a ‘56 Nomad kit, I was going to go with Fresh Plum Metallic with Champagne Gold.

My two cents plain as a slot car guy - white primer as a base coat followed by Tamiya White Pearl followed by two coats of clear. And never ever sand pearl. Put the clear on it, two coats, then buff with a good wax.
