How to rip off the paint from a die cast model ?

Project: "My first car"
I bought a die cast model (Scale 1/43) of my first car I owned and now I would want to (at least) paint it in the right color to represent better the original one..
But first I need to get rid off the original color..
but what chemicals (?) to be used, any ideas, tips ?

I use I think it's Kleenstrip, at work, it's a chemical stripper, it will burn your hands do wer gloves, should be available almost anywhere tht sells paint, then I rinsed it well with acetone but you could probably use water as well. I can get more info on what I used tomorrow.

Kari! Check out “Matchbox Restorer” on YouTube for stripping techniques but not so much the painting ideas. There is also a degree of surface preparation involved once the paint is stripped.

Had to test Zero Paints Paint Stripper...
Skipped the recommendation to first sand...
WOUH I say, brushed a thin layer on the paint... and this happened in front of my very eyes, in few seconds.
After a minute, the paint flakes could easily be brushed away.
Strong stuff all in all!
This is the "goal" of this project.... To replicate my 1st car from late 80's, early 90's

Zero Paints Rules. Good choice. Make sure you do a high grit polish. There’s a fella online who builds metal cars I like to follow on FB... maybe it’s LoveGT40 Motorworks. Worth a search.
