P-40 Drop tank

Hi Guys,
Anyone know where I might get hold of a AM P-40 style drop tank (with the mounting frame)?
I need one for a project I'm working on (soon to be shared) that's NOT a P-40. Extra bonus Ninja brownie points to anyone who guesses what it is

It IS an aircraft - just not a P-40

Hmmmmm.... the P-39, early P-47 & P-51 also used the same style drop tanks... and I want to say that those were used as early napalm containers, just with a fuse in place of the filler cap.

All good but nope - Lets just say that these were probably pinched from P-40's stationed in the desert, and bolted to something else...

That tells me most likely a Spitfire or Hurricane... put possibly even a Boston, Mitchell, or Baltimore.
You did not mention what scale that you’re looking for the tank(s) to be in...

Close enough - Reading through one of my reference books I came across this image of Supermarine Seafire III's in the Pacific. The details of the image mentioned that the aircraft were converted to carry ex. P-40 drop tanks to extend the range (presumably with the two U shaped mounts the P-40 used)
i really love those BIG SEAC markings on the Spits!
Sorry Stik - I'm looking at 1/48th. I have an old Airfix kit I started over the weekend. So far I've assembled a bit of the cockpit and I'm just scribing the fuselage halves - I'll share some photo's later.
I've tried look for AM but no luck yet. I might just pick up a P-40 kit and rob it.

Oh I do like that! And a completely new thing to learn about. I’m surprised that they did not use Corsair or Hellcat tanks. But I do believe that the Avenger and Wildcat both used that style of drop tank as well, and FAA probably had a stock of those somewhere...

Eduard makes 75 gallon drop tanks. 4 USD each in sets of 2.

Ah that's probably true Carlos - but weren't the mounts different on those aircraft? I need to try and find a close up of how they were mounted on the Seafire.
