Eduard F6F-3 Hellcat

I must have fifteen Eduard catalogs lying around my office, and I picked one up today to flip through it. I’m waiting on the PE parts for the second in my series of Galland’s Emils to arrive (can’t start without them), and I figured it’d help pass the time and take my mind off how badly I want to start that build.

...and I saw this bad-boy:

Carlos and I have spoken about how I pick subjects before. I’m a 109 guy, that aircraft has so much grace and beauty...

...but when it comes to American and Allies aircraft in-general, I seem to look for something completely different. And my reaction to this subject was similar to how I reacted to the Curtiss Warhawk. Aircraft like this just have that certain *someting*. Call it “shock and awe”, say “Well yeah bro, anything with wings, guns, and a shark mouth painted on it!”, or say whatever you’d like, it’s bad ass.

This was one of those kits I had to order as soon as I saw it, so I did. And the bastard won’t be collecting any dust in my stash after it arrives, either.

Excellent choice Kenny, probably one of the best 1/48 Hellcat on the market ( if not the best). Wonderful kit to build, you will love it!

Im really looking forward to it. I’ll have it on the workbench once my Galland Battle of France Emil enters the painting stage.

I read up on this one a little this afternoon, apparently it was quite an illustrious aircraft with a great reputation. I’m excited about it.

That's a great kit! Not all Profipacks come with resin but this one has gorgeous resin tires and wheels, which address one of the few shortcomings of this kit (skinny tires). I don't recall any issues with the build. I elected to open up the blocked off tail wheel well...

Bruce and Kari, those are some great pics of what I’m learning is a great plane! Thank you for sharing them!!

John, that’s wicked cool about the resin wheels, and the kit quality in-general. Eduard is my favorite mfg going right now, and I’m really happy I bought this kit. Of course, I also totally screwed myself because now I’m chewing my nails over not one but TWO shipments from the Czech Republic that’ll arrive down here in the bayou whenever LOL
