I'm currently building a Tamiya 1/48 F 16C blk 25/32. I am amazed by how small this aircraft is next to my 1/48 F 15, F 14, and F 4. It's not much larger than my 1/72 F 100 and F 101B. That little bugger will sure carry a lot of armament plus drop tanks. Quite an impressive aircraft and the fact that it is still relevant speaks well for the upgrade ability of the airframe.

Yes the F-16 is quite a machine. It has come a long way from its original daytime lightweight fighter bomber origins. And it's wartime exploits under the flags of several nations are pretty impressive as well.

Our basic F-16's never really did much for me. Impressive, when ya look at the "numbers", but always just looked a little weak to me.

Now, when ya ya throw some stuff on it, like the Polish do....BAD@$$!!!!!!

I see that one has conformal tanks. I'm not sure they have ever been modeled.

I have this one in the stash!

Having switched to 99% 1/72 scale...I don't see this one on the bench any time soon. :headslap:

The Israeli's have similar 16's, but I'm not into their camo, as much as I am grey on grey with grey trim!

Kinetic makes them in 1/48.

The F-16 is the staple of a lot of NATO airforces over here. So I see them a lot, a lovely airplane.

I like 'em. Something of a hot rod single seat single engine fighter. Like the early Mig-21, a pilots fighter jet. Compared with the F-15 is like a roadster and a muscle car. And the Viper has gained a lot more capabilities over the years.

I agree, that is one fine little scooter. I do like the "beefed up" version and I do want the Israeli aircraft. I've been trying to find one in 1/72 scale and so far have failed miserably.

Looking forward to seeing more.
