Outstanding customer service

I have bought several kits from sealmodel.com in Hong Kong and have always received good customer service. I recently purchased Tamiya's 1/48
F 14A. I somehow threw away the clear sprue with the canopy, etc on it. I really didn't remember having seen it but I know it was included because sealmodel digitally scans the contents of shipped kits. They offered to send me a free replacement if I purchased a cheap kit they could box it in. I ordered a 1/48 Tamiya F 15C. It arrived today and the clear F 14 sprue was in the box. I had previously tried Tamiya USA and they said spare parts for this kit wouldn't be available for probably 6 months. I would consider that to be excellent customer service. I paid $66 for the F 14 which is at least $9 less than anybody else I've seen. If you haven't considered dealing with them before, you might check their web site.

That is excellent customer service!! It's always good to see stories like this. I am really surprised to hear Tamiya not being able to handle it.

Tamiya USA said that it takes quite a while to get spare parts, especially on a kit that is selling really well. They say the 1/48 F 14 is selling really well. I think that sealmodel may have robbed a new kit for my part. I find it interesting that they scan all kits before shipping to assure that all the parts are in the box. They checked mine after I got in touch with them and assured me the kit was complete when sent.

I have ordered from them. Prices are unbelievable. Even paint. I really like the Gunze aqueous paints. $1.60 a bottle. The only complaint is he is out of stock a lot on the popular colors
