B-24 Liberator GB idea

I got to thinking the other day about a Group Build idea for later in the year or the beginning of 2017.

I came across some really cool aftermarket decals of B-24D Liberators specifically the "Zodiac Squadron" of the 834th - in which none of the Zodiacs were lost during the 49 missions the 486th flew before transitioning to the Fortresses. All from Kits World Decals.

(These are 1/72 scale decal sets)

The other:

343rd Bomber Squadron , 98th Bomber Group - each with various nose arts of Snow White, each of the Seven Dwarfs, Prince Charming and The Witch.

(These are 1/72 scale decal sets)

Kits World has them in both 1/48 and 1/72 scale.

Another attractive idea is we would buy a decal sheet of the Zodiac squadron and of the Seven Dwarfs Bomber Squadron. Since they give you multiple nose arts of each per decal sheet, we could pay-it-forward with each other for all to do. For example, if I chose to do 1/72 scale Pisces of the Zodiac, and Grumpy of the Snow White Bomber Group, I would pay-it-forward the others whoever wants to participate.

I think this could be something we can enjoy without breaking the bank on the aftermarket decal sheets by simply sharing decal sets. Is anyone interested in doing something like this?

Easy. I will buy one Zodiac Squadron decal sheet set in 1/72 scale and one of the Snow White Squadron set of my choosing - also in 1/72 scale. I will then pay-it-forward the others who wants to participate. All everyone has to do provide themselves a B-24 Liberator bomber kit.

The Zodiac Squadron (486th BG, 834th BS) flew B-24H Liberators, the Snow White Squadron (343 BS, 98 BG) flew B-24D Liberators.

I am intrigued...interested as it were. But, alas, I have not a machine in my vast collection matching said specifications. What is a poor modeler to do? Mayhaps, query a local purveyor of styrene to see if they might have one available for acquisition? What am I to do?

I have no idea why I'm writing like that. It was fun, though.

I could be up for this - no libby in the stash but I might be able to find one.

I don't have a B-24 Liberator in my stash either. I did find a 1/72 scale B-24D Liberator (Italieri) to add to the collection. Now I need to find the H version. The closest I can find is a B-24J Liberator. However, I'm not sure if there are major differences between the H and J versions of the Liberator. They both look very similar. Can anyone provide me any insight between the H and J models?
