Being a modelers wife/girl cant be easy sometimes. Too much theory, hours spent glueing, painting, sanding etc. in a man cave...

BUT:

You know that moment when the carpet monster strikes again, do you? In my case that meant I needed to glue some railings on my 1/700 Akagi. Didnt fit at first try, so I cut it in three parts. That was the plan at least. I glued on part no. 1, wanted to glue part 2 on aaaaand... there you are. It disppeared somewhere completely different.

Some cursing later my girl came in and asked me: "What are you doing?!"

"Im searching for a certain PE part, ya know?"

"Let me help you searching..."

"...!!!!!!"


Wow, "let me help you searching a PE part" is something you really dont hear often." One more very good reason to love her.

In my cases for such events there is usually a lot of bad language gradually increasing in volume and amount as the search goes on... family knows to stay away...

In such cases (stuff dropped onto the floor) my wife is supportive and gets me the torch. Or, in case there is the kind of sound Stik mentioned, she waits until the riot is over. Clever wife!

If I am going to do a particulary tricky part of the build (like rigging) I always warn my wife: do not come in unless it is absoluty neccesary. And yes, there will be some bad language...

The carpet monster has been especially mean lately. SWMBO is usually at work when I'm at the bench.
