I have some larger scale resin figs in multiple parts that I'd like to use epoxy on, rather than CA.
Question is, will this stuff sand well?

I have use epoxy in the past, but have never used it in a situation that it would need to be sanded.

I guess on what type of 2K epoxy you have and the drying time. Get epoxy a rough surface or even drill small holes in the contact area to get it something to grip on. Why not do a test on a sample piece and let it fully dry, maybe some days? Should work, me thinks.

I have the Zap stuff and it sands very nicely.

Glue my resine figures with CA glue and - if neccessary - a tiny amount of baking soda as activator. Sands up very well, in doubt I use Milliput - and if there are larger spots left. Never had issues so far.

On the last two I did, I used CA and bits of sheet styrene to fill in the massive gaps. On these ones, the points of actual contact between the parts is very small, for as big as the figs are. Was thinking epoxy would be the way to go, to fill in the rest...where there is supposed to be contact. (if that makes any sense!)

The epoxy will also make a nice filler. Just wipe the excess away with a q tip and iso alcohol

CA can be a good filler but is a MOFO to sand...epoxy tends to be softer, even when cured...
