I've built the Gawa kit and its cherry...if you want 72nd Airfix's new-tool is to die for. Might have to grab that boxing as well...
Did mine in modern Agressor scheme...

My uncle served on the USS Independence during the Vietnam War. I know he wasn't a pilot so I'm not sure what role he played on board the carrier. Gonna have to ask him when I get a chance. It does look like a decent kit to get ahold of though.

I love that scheme, and want to make one myself!
Hasegawas A-4's are sweet!
The old Revellogram OA-4M is cool too.
Stay far away from Italeri's A-4

...I relegated the whole kit to the scraps/spares box.

Supposed to look like a MiG-17...

Yeah, the Hasegawa Scooters are the best kits available in 1/48. I have a couple in my stash.

Not familiar with Scooter kits...how does the Hasegawa stack up. I'll certainly need to grab one of these if it's a good kit.
Go and grab one, Jim.
When it comes to quarterscale Scooters, the Hasegawa kits are the measure of all things.

Just so you know that I didn't snub you, or be rude about it. I have never built a 1/48 Skyhawk, so anything I said would be "parrot reviewing", which I don't think would have been fair to do.
But, I just saw a guy build a Black Sheep A-4 on another site with the Hasegawa kit, and it looks like what people say about is true, it builds up into a very nice looking finished model.
In your hands, I am sure it will be something really cool to look at.
