Sorry to hear about the cockpit becoming loose. That's always a danger when it comes to these multi-media kits... getting a good bond can be tricky. It's happened to me before and it sucks having to re-secure a free floating piece. Drilling a small hole in the bottom to push up on the cockpit floor seems to be the best route... good luck!

It's funny how all three of us got the same hole in the upper fuselage. Maybe it is not a coincidence. Perhaps the design/placement of the sprue connection had something to do with it.

Just thinking out loud here... is it possible to use a toothpick/cocktail stick poked through the ammo chute openings to push the cockpit tub up?

I will have a look at giving it a go John but I don’t want to risk pushing the cockpit further rearwards in my undoubtedly ham fisted attempts.

I concur with the reasoning the sprue gates are the cause. I would like to see them modified to be on the mating edges as they have elsewhere, reducing the profile on the external surfaces. Maybe in the next iteration

My question is... when you turn the aircraft over does the cockpit shift into position? If it does, I would be tempted to inject a thin bead of epoxy into that gap, invert the bird and let gravity and glue take over.

Mate were it that easy but alas no. It will require gentle pressure to move it back into position.

1.8mm Albion Alloy brass tubing seems to be a good building material for me. Thinking you might drill two openings underneath the cockpit (or four) to push the slab of the cockpit tub up against wicked strong epoxy seam filler? Put enough pressure on the brass tubing to keep the cockpit flush until all sets?

Fix in progress. 2mm hole drilled in underside, Mk. IA toothpick inserted and gentle pressure on errant decking. Back into place and CA applied liberally to area behind storage area. Rear cockpit replaced. 2mm styrene rod into the hole which will be cut and sanded flush once dry:
