I am able to not only see a clear path but the terminology for those older biplanes is covered in finer detail than many video builds by pros, which simply makes the building process much easier.
Yes, it is a great book. And you can very much use techniques of it to improve on kits. You don’t have do to “full scratchbuilding” to have some use of all these different ways to solve scale modelling problems.

I will be ordering some wheels at the Aviationmegastore once my salary comes in, so that will be around the 21th.

Wheels aren’t in yet but I did modify the cover to have the exposed cilinders. This was quite a chore. At first I lost one of the modified cover to the carpet monster (even though I have no carpet in my room!). Fortunately I had spare parts from an ANT-5 I have build before. That is why the top cover is grey instead of green.

So basically I split the covers and wedged a cilinder head of a 1/72 Heller Ju-52 in between. Sounds easy but it toke quite some work. And some are a bit wonky when looking from the side. But it will have to suffice. And it is more accurate then the kit covers. I haven’t seen any photos of an I-4 with covers like that.

You come uo with the best subjects, and those Russian designs provide plenty of material.
