So as part of my Mastering Being A Suburban Dad project, I’m mastering grilling LITERALLY EVERYTHING on my Weber grill that Mrs. Kenny X bought me for Father’s Day. I love to cook but previous to this I had exactly ZERO grilling experience. So give done beef fajitas, Afghani beef kabobs, and now ribeyes on this grill. And everything is working well so far. I got a vortex coming in the mail and next Saturday- chicken leg quarters and wings. Week after- chicken Shawarma.

Okay! We’ve got a corroding muffler, much of which will get covered by the deflector HAHA. I’ll brush some pigments on there anyway.

Also- spare tracks on their mounting bracket.

It’s getting dangerously close to assembling everything together, and proceeding with the decals and weathering.

Oh forget the model, more meat & potatoes please

I’ll be grilling again Friday and Saturday, as it happens.

As to the Panzer, I think tomorrow will be the day to get all of the three halves put together. Maybe the day after. Either/or. I have a game plan for how to safely do it, and it’s all been dry-fit several times -TAMIYA’s engineering is great, but I still did numerous rounds of test fitting. I plan on getting the upper and lower hull assemblies into position and then I’ll go in through the turret hole and glue from the inside out. Shouldn’t take much, just a few little careful dabs -famous last words to be sure, but I’m confident it’ll be okay.

Moments like these are when I have been known to snatch defeat right out of the jaws of victory. But everything went to plan today, and the lower and upper hulls have been joined together. No Tamiya Extra-Thin related mishaps or incidents arose. I also got the spare tracks, and PE grills installed. I gave the metal parts an acid bath in white vinegar before I painted them, and it worked like a charm -paint’s bitten in pretty darn good on there. Sigh. So much for weathering the mufflers HAHA, can’t hardly see any of it. But that’s alright with me.

I don’t know if I want to do the markings straight away, or paint all the tools, and attach the wheels and tracks beforehand. I’m thinking not, insofar as the wheels and tracks go at least. The wheels are good to go, but I want to hit the lower hull with washes and pigments and it’d be nice if the wheels weren’t in the way.

I guess I can do the tools, then decals, then get going on the washes and stuff… then attach the wheels later. We’ll see.
