The parts are mostly 1/300 ship weapons. 20mm Oerlikons, 40mm twin Bofors, Torpedo Tubes, 5” Gun turrets, and 25 man square “Carley Floats”. I have a ship project that I promised for a good friend several years back and will be starting it shortly. I have started gathering all the items I need to improve the kit required for the project, and now I almost have all of them. The stuff out there in 3-D printed parts in every conceivable scale is mind boggling.
Thanks Stik - that sounds an interesting project!

3D technology has come along way - how long before you can print the whole kit I wonder?

Stuart, I suspect that the ability to print an entire kit in sub assemblies is already here. Just going thru the ship stuff to find what I needed on the Shapeways site should plenty of major sub components in the scales that I was looking thru. They also had plenty of single piece printed full ships in the tiny wargaming scales available. I think it is similar to resin, but with less assembly than with that medium.

I’m hoping to kick off my ship project next month, and will have a thread here if you want to follow along.

Thank you Stuart! My motivation level for this project is increasing due to the new items and techniques I will likely have to use.

I'll be following along as well. This will be highly interesting and I'll be learning a few things as well.

Bring it on man!

Here is a 3-D printed 1/300 scale 21” trainable triple torpedo tube mount for the project that came in the mail today from Shapeways. This is one of the largest 3-D printed items that I will be adding to my upcoming project.

I am just waiting on one more 3-D printed item, then I will have all of the AM stuff that I need for this project. Then just some triangular strip styrene and I’ll have all that I need... :hmm:

Carlos... I am so curious to know what the kit is, curious enough to ask. First, I will guess that it is the 1/300 USS Delong DE-684 by Lindberg... and I will probably be wrong. Is Revell's "Missile Guided Fleet" in 1/300?
