Yes, those are Mustangs. That is Suribachi in the background.

And yes, the Victory At Sea score is fabulous. Old Rogers incorporated some of his other works such as South Pacific in there. I had the vinyl LPs as a kid and picked up the CDs when those came out.

I have Model Master's Willow Green in both enamel and acrylic. It can also be designated as both Bright Green or RLM 25.

Thank you so much, BlackSheep214. I will search for this. Your reply is incredibly helpful and I am grateful. I started with the eight square bottles that come with the Testors Military Paint set. I really love using enamel; and the paint is a lot of joy to thin, mix and apply.

Finished is becoming critical to me. However, I was thinking I love my unfinished builds. All of them are important learning and research phases. I needed to hold off on the Zoukei Mura 1/48 Ta 152H until such time as I am ready. I was worried about the engine, but the Vector Resin engine in the Thunderbolt build has demystifyed it. It’s just another component.

Also: last but never least: thank you for being a great friend here as well as fellow modeler of plastic pieces. Ditto an important list: BlackSheep, Borg, Carlos, Duke, Joe, Kari, Marius, Scruffy (where are you buddy?), Thomas... the list grows, too, hopefully!

I have all 26 episodes on CD. The musical score was written by Richard Rodgers of Rodgers and Hammerstein fame and was 13 hours long. It is(or was then) the longest symphony ever written. The episodes are about 25 minutes long which indicates very few commercials back then. I remember watching it when I was young teenager and loved the music.

Thank you, Kari. I am not a fan of “Shelves of Doom” as a term at all; this implies modeling Purgatory, which is contrary to where the results of modeling interests should be going in reality and the mind of the model builder. I know this is all terribly personal, but an unfinished model need not be thought of as terrible per se, and loss of interest is oftentimes a result of outside forces. My replacement concept is simply reboxing or stasis—repacked in a larger container. I use cardboard boxes to prevent crushing, wrap, bag and label the parts for safe keeping.

I am not asking to change a concept, at least not yet, that helps others. I know it is supposedly humorous but I find comedy to have its basis in anger or pain. I suppose I have lived in California long enough to want to holistically change a few attitudes at least for myself.

I agree! One of the most beautiful scores written. And knowing the details helps to appreciate just how amazingly gifted Richard Rodgers was!
