Go hunting, dude!!! (and share with me some pics!!!)

Doesn't look like much hunting this weekend. There are flash flood warnings in effect for the area I go and there is supposed to be snow through tonight. I'll be heading up next week for about 5 days. Weather is supposed to break on Tuesday. I thought about going out anyway, but, this is my sons first year and I figured I didnt want to ruin him with nasty weather his first time out.

Fermis, I'll definitely share some pics with ya when I get back.

On the modelling side of things, I've started work on my TA-3B 1/48 from Trumpter, it actually felt good today to sit at the bench, especially since it was nasty outside. I'll get some WIP thread pics started.

Yeah, don't really want a kids first hunting experience to be unenjoyable!
My first years of hunting were for dove, in south-west Kansas...lots of action...lots of wasted ammo!
My first deer hunting trip...Dad took me and my little bro up north(Michigan), to an uncles place. We left after Thanksgiving dinner....hit a massive blizzard up near Kalkaska...5mph on the highway...total white out. We hunted morning and evening on Fri-Sat-Sun. When we got out there, my uncle just said "go find a spot, I'll come get you when we're ready to go in". Two feet of snow on the ground...temps in the low teens. Long johns and a pair of jean were nowhere near enough! I froze my %$# off!!! It was horrible....but great, at the same time! All I saw was a doe and fawn (didn't have a doe tag) and probably 30 other hunters (state land).

I don't know if it's builders block in my case. During the summer I do so much outside that there isn't enough time in the day for me to sit at the bench. But as soon as the leaves start changing I get the itch.

For me it's been the opposite. I've been so busy that I have no time for the bench. When I do have a chance to sit for a minute, I blank out on all the projects I have in progress, and then fall asleep. Now that I have three days to recover from my biopsy, I will be spending as many hours on the workbench as I can stand! Hopefully, I might even get something done!

I've had a massive block that started around the end of May - I started a few things and then couldn't get interested in them. It got the point where I took a break from modelling completely (no forums, magazines) etc.

It's coming back now - although my attitude has changed a fair bit. I've started a few small builds just to get the juices flowing.

Welcome back Stuart! It's taken me awhile to get the "mojo" back as well. I havent really started building a lot yet, but I've been gathering some material and supplies to get started. I'm hoping to get some good progress done on the TA-3B by the time I head out on vacation in December. Then I'll hit it hard as soon as I return after the New Year.

Thanks Gents, it's nice to be back.

I found spending the time away from the hobby was a good way to re-charge the batteries (I spent a lot of time on Photography and reading). I re-started when I really felt like it and have spent thae last few weeks working on a couple of old Matchbox kits.

What I'm also enjoying now is having my own PC (1st time in 15 years) and being able to use a proper Digicam for pictures, AND ditching PB and moving to postimage.org

I'll post up some pic's when I get home tonight.
