Oh I know it makes good business sense. Shorter production runs means a higher asking price for them to recoup their costs up front, and if the item sells well, it insures a second run at that same higher price. Instead of an excess of a lower price item sitting around waiting to be bought up. Which is what I like...

Yes indeed. I have multiple sheets for single kits in my stash that caught my eye at one time or another. Perhaps I'll buy another kit for the sheet, or perhaps I'll sell them off later...

Well the problem is that these companies usually print around 500 sheets of a subject. Once those sell out, they're reluctant to reprint because of the cost. They have to sell all 500 sheets to make a profit. A couple of the decal companies that I know won't raise the price if they reprint.

Oh and Jim, Afterburner Decals is no longer in business unfortunately.

I love AM decals – I must have 30 odd sheets in my stash – mostly 1/72 RAF/FAA and some USN. I really like the Xtradecal sets that are produced by Hannants, and have bought a few just because I liked the look of the sheet.

I’ve tried to cut down on the purchase now though – I did but a lot because I like old kits and the decals are generally unusable, or I liked to do something that wasn’t in the box just to be different.

These days when I buy a kit, I try to get something that has good decals, or something that I already have them for. If I do buy a sheet now I try to get one with multiple types on to increase their usability.

Well, if you happen to have a sheet for the F-4G in 1/48 scale that has the Idaho Air National Guard Markings, and you decide that you want to part with it please keep me in mind!

I have plenty of 1/48 F-4 decal sheets. But only one sheet with F-4Gs- USAFE out of Spandahlem.
