Guys, exactly this is the kind of mood I love here on our place! Thanks for making me smile, the first time today! Ya know, we Germans are not really known for our smiles...

The laws of nature will require that we grow older, but we are not obligated to grow up. We play with plastic for crying out loud.

Everyone that I have met from Germany, have been great, good humored, kill ya with kindness people! Maybe I've just been fortunate?!!!
Last year, I got to meet my idols, Markus Grosskopf and Michael Weikath of Helloween (from Hamburg Germany). Having been one of the top, most influential metal bands of the last 3 decades, I was seriously expecting major ego's and general @$$holery...those guys are a class act! A couple of the nicest, down to earth, guys I've ever met.

I'll be headed your way next December...gonna spend just over a week in Nuremberg! I can't wait!!!
I'm even giving up a good chunk of deer season to take the trip...and I aint even mad about it!!!

If you find your way to Hamburg one day (my hometown) it would be a pleasure for me to visit a metal concert with you. The scene is quite active here in the north. Just come over and be my guest.

That would be amazing!
Helloween has been at the top of my list since I first heard them, back in 1988! Trumped only by Kai Hansen (original founder of Helloween) with Gamma Ray. I wish the U.S. metal scene could even come close to what it is in the rest of the world (Europe especially!)...we're still being force fed a craptastic batch of crap. The nice thing is, though...when we do get the bands coming around, they are playing small venues(1000-1500 people), and the guys will "hang out" with the fans, take pics, autographs and chit chat. A FAR cry from what you'd get a Wacken, or any of the other big festivals!
I've been setting aside a few bucks here and there...in a couple years, I'll be able to do the "70,000 Tons of Metal" cruise!!!

Please don't remember me on our NBC-weapons defence training. The yellow fluid you can see on the photo posted by Stik (thank you for that!) is actually a decontamination liquid, brewed by highly educated German Army specialists.
